Alumaweld? Has anyone ever tried "Alumaweld" welding rods aluminum welding applications? What concerns me is that it melts at only 700 degrees instead of 1220 degrees that aluminum melts at the standard. My question is, would it be useful for structural applications? Also, I'm using an oxy-acetylene.
I'm not sure I've used this brand, but I used something similar. What I used was very fragile, so it might be good for repair clogged or non-critical, I would not use it for structural applications. But your mileage may vary.
As the melting point to indicate it is really more of an arc soldering welding. It was very easy to use, but since I am a welder I prefer a TIG weld fusion.
I'm sure people who Alumaweld specifications for what it can be used for.
