Beware of restaurant chains. Hotels can be good, but expensive. Japanese food can be very good in Hawaii. There are some good French restaurants to.

I went to Bob's Big Boy ..... good if you will be on the island for some time and the absence of some of the clearest continent's food.
Pretty I went to Canoe and loved the atmosphere .... do not remember the food.
If you do not have Jack in the Box in yuor state, you should try here. Cheap, fast, fun.
Also stop at a convenience store and get some rice and spam all wrapped ..... just for the experience .... is really big there.
