How much would it cost to build a pontoon? I have the logs from a boat 18 feet. It is a floor, rails and a seat motor and everything else. I thought starting a new project, but I was curious to know how much money I'm going to have dump it. Thank you
You can actually be better off buying used. Cheap seats sailors can cost more than $ 1,000 for the basics. Not sure rails.
Check www.pontoonstuff.com (no, not joking at all)
I just redecked my 25 'toon last year. I am furniture off eBay for $ 1,200, but had to drive six hours to get it. engines used in Range 50 horses can be had for as little as $ 300 - $ 500, but a new 50hp will cost about $ 4,500. Figure about $ 100 per horse in this range, but you can get offers.
Rigging Steering, acceleration, displacement, and all the lighting, will cost about $ 500 new, but again, used is available on Ebay or ossuaries. I started with a boat drummer, but the rails, engine, etc. were already there. Ah yes, the rails are very expensive. You would be money before scouting the papers for a solid used boat that you can rehab.
I think it would cost about $ 5,000 when all is said and done, I'm looking for a pontoon log where did you find yours? Flag
Wild proposal with a new motor = $ 4,000.
Most parts are not too expensive with the exception of an engine. For a 18 footer, you can start limping around with an engine of 25 horsepower, but would probably be happy with something more powerful.
