Canoes Plus

Canoes PlusDoes anyone know a good place in Missouri to go on a canoe or raft float trip, stay over the cabin?

A group of 8 + people are thinking of going to Missouri for a floating raft trip or canoe trip, and more would stay in cabins for a night or two. I know there are many in Missouri, but was looking for someone who went to a private and was satisfied. Thank you!

There are certainly many places.
One that I like is located approximately 40 miles west of St. Louis near I-44.

Meramac State Park .. A Nice rustic cabins. Easy access to the network. Near the River.

I live about an hour north of the park .. Sitting there know another ice storm. And a relaxing float trip warm weather does not seem very attractive at the moment.
(Sigh)
Here is a link to the park

I live in MO and most cabins in state parks are booked six months to a year in advance. This is not like a hotel you can introduce yourself and expect to get a room. Just a heads up. Report Abuse

We are going to Sam Baker State Park (about 120 miles south of St. Louis off U.S. 67), which has cabins Nice if you can get one. Check for cancellations, but do not expect much. Report Abuse

Just south of West Plains, Missouri is a river called "The Spring". This is a great river for rafting or canoeing. It flows south to Arkansas during the spring season, it is great.

I float a lot about the Black River in Lesterville. I stayed at a few places there. Another nice place is the Bass River Resort Steelville.

Noel, MO has a high place of canoeing and canoe great new! The River Ranch Resort has spots tent, RV parking and connections, and stateroom (for those who want a shower, bath, washbasin and mattresses to sleep.) If you're like me, I like nature, but you want a good night sleep if I can go on weekends throughout! They built a lot of new cabins and a brand new store on their site if you have forgotten necessities or change your mind about dinner. Weekend Memorial Day is a must for us every year and this place is our favorite. Call early, they book quickly.
