Its that time of year again - the Americans are preparing for football. In a few months, the NFL teams will be opening training camps and college football teams start practice. Farther north, however, the balloons are already flying that pro football is growing up in Canada with the Canadian Football League (CFL).

The CFL is almost as old as NFL, coming into existence in'30. Trophy League Grey Cup championship is even older, having been granted to the Canadian professional football team since'09 better. There were a number of stars who have made their NFL debut in the CFL, including Doug Flutie, Randall Cunningham and Jeff Garcia.

Although the CFL plays football at the highest professional level of competition outside of the NFL, there are some differences in the game:

The most obvious difference is football itself - the CFL football is longer and larger than the ball of the NFL.
