Crew Placement

Posted on June 2, 2010.
Crew PlacementCarb overload? I have an investment of 25 minutes erg line tomorrow for the crew. What to Eat?

Just curious - as I read runners make a carbohydrate overload, which is a method that provides lots of energy delivery, fast.

Tomorrow I am competing with my classmates for 25 minutes an erg (rowing machine) for the placement of the crew team. What should I eat tonight?

Pasta is the carbohydrate of choice for the loading of carbohydrates. You need complex carbohydrates which break down slowly to give you sustainable energy. In addition, you give plenty of water in the morning and get plenty of rest tonight. Do not underestimate the power of sleep!

PASTA!

25 minutes is not really long if carbo-loading does not help. Also, you should never try something new, the day "race" or placement of the day. Eat what you normally eat before a training session. For future investments or race experience during the training with energy gels, honey, coffee, whatever you want.
