Jet Ski MaintenancePreparing Your Jet Ski for Summer

With the heating time and thoughts turning to summer vacations, many people get their jet ski storage and prepare for a summer of fun. However, with your jet ski being stored for a long time, it could not be performed exactly as it should and you may have to put forth a little work you can remove it. This quick guide will run through a number of checks to do before your departure.

Hopefully, when you put away your jet-ski for the winter, the winter (ie fill the tank with a stabilizer / fuel mixture). If you did, you should not have too many problems in running condition. However, if you do not (and who can say they have always done what they knew they were supposed to do?) That you might have some problems.

Task 1: Verify the run lines with fingertips along the fuel line. Be sure that there are no cracks. Also check there are no areas where cracks may develop (areas that have been worn during the winter). Once you've done this, perform the same checks on the cooling lines to check they are holding up well.

Task 2: General Cleaning Leaving you jet ski to sit during the winter will probably say it has cobwebs, dust and other debris on it. Give the outside of the jet-ski once more. In particular, check the exhaust is quite clear.

Task 3: Check the spark plugs The spark plugs of your jet ski are very vulnerable to moisture. After being left for the winter, there is a chance that rust may have developed in this area. Take a look at the well bores to check that this is not the case.

Task 4: Check the Carburetor Dust is the main enemy during the winter when it comes to the carburetor. Make sure to remove any dust to ensure that your engine is not damaged.

Task 5: The gas tank How much of a problem that you face at this stage depends on the depth of your jet ski in the winter has been. Empty the fuel tank and some tests of new fuel into the engine. You may find that some areas are blocked. Fortunately, the implementation of the new fuel will dislodge these. If the blocked areas need a little extra work, try adding some STA-BIL to give him a refresher course more.

This process summerizing your jet ski if you put in place for an enjoyable summer. Make sure you follow a maintenance regime after every trip and you should be plain sailing all summer.
