Is my Ford Expedition 2000 Have a towing Pkg or not? Just bought a beautiful Expecition 2000 w/39k loaded. I was told he had a tow package, but there was no hitch on the back. Just the bumper with places to attach a ball. These were never taken to a place a ball hitch in.
I just had a hitch installed and asked the worker to continue to verify that this car was actually a trailer pkg. After watching, he said that "Extra" the Cooler is a cooler, power steering, and felt it could not have a cable pkg. That said, there was an electrical attachment to the rear of the vehicle so that the trailer wiring can be attached. (???)
Next I took home a Ford dealer. The mechanic has checked and was not sure. "Maybe they came with towing, and that's how it comes." He then checked the VIN # into their computer and there was no mention of a cable pkg, but said that the cars in 2000, perhaps not all the options listed. Off to the parts department .. It is a larger radiator which can be placed at considerable cost, but the guy said the parties, it might as well be it is because they have listed, Heavy Duty towing package, which could mean it can tow heavy and without, and it involves my shipment, how it has put in place can be very well for a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds (about what I need .... boat and trailer tandem) Thus, the engineer wants to sell me a larger radiator ... the guy told me to pieces, may not be necessary ... grrrrrr
Next step, the owner's manual .... This article states that the "Heavy Duty" package would wiring to both the rear of the vehicle (where it is) and electrical components under the dash to attach the electric brakes if necessary. .. What I could not identify as I am not familiar with what it would look like. There seems to be an outlet "thing" or two down there ... but I'm in the dark about what they are for something ... attached the brake pedal arm ... I have no idea what it is, but it is wired to something ...
Anybody Out There know what's going on with my shipment???
