How do I write my special skills for a resume of an actor? I want it to sound like I know what I'm doing, even if im not. The questions are, the list of special skills (dancing, singing, musical instruments, etc.)
and
List of hobbies (sailing, coin collection, knitting, painting, etc.)
sample resumes Now, I saw that people put all the shopping and dining rollerbladding. What should I wear and how I put it.
-I play the violin, recorder, (fake piano average), I am hot on the hook, I can shop, eat, cooking, driving, hiking, pleasure dance resulting im .. not a professional for IM, but is not afraid to swing my hips and throw my Ahnd in the air. I like being on the computer and the music I like and dried flowers .. and much more!
PLEASE HELP! Im going to an open tender on Saturday for a great film in Chicago!
I've been acting long enough, and the only thing I learned is that directors and producers do not really care about a bunch of BS on a resume. When I direct a show, I can usually tell when someone is "padding" their resumes. When it comes to skills that could translate into performance, be sincere. List of things as a computer, dried flowers and taste may be great for MySpace or other profiles, but it will not do much good on stage. Some of what you list is actually logic: the hook, playing the violin, dancing. These could actually be used on stage, and have probably been.
When I placed my resume, I usually put the skills that certainly join the scene: the experience of fighting on stage (including swordfighting), the various dialects I speak, dancing and singing the experience, etc. Then I start to get into skills that could be handy for a character I can play the harmonica, rollerblading (Starlight Express anyone?), spit out the selection (and it was come in handy), etc.
You never know what the director may, as your skills ... I had a manager to add the character he plays the harmonica in the game, because he thought he could add to the down-and hobo-out feel.
First, be honest. When you put something in it that isn't true, and it comes later, it can really bite you in the A @ @. I dropped an actor in a role, because he said he had combat training stage, and when it came time to pony up, it was not too obvious, he didn't know he did. I hated to do, but his lack of knowledge could get himself or someone else seriously hurt.
Break a leg at your audition!
You are actually asked what are your hobbies? Interesting hearing. Maybe I misunderstood the question.
If you ask only for what the list of your own, so keep it short and relevant to stage and film the scene. Do not dance list that you really daced on stage and / or have undergone formal training. Violin is good. Recorder is good.
If you fill out a form that someone in the group gave you casting, then by all means to respond to their questions!
just do exactly wat it says to do and leave nothing out!
