Sailing New York

Sailing New YorkInterested in sailing from New York to Florida in the Caribbean - how do I do?

I am interested in learning to sail. After that, I would like to take this experience to sail from New York to Florida in the Caribbean.

I am not the hard core - I do not want to do without a couple of engines, a lot of practice, and safety equipment. My question is, what kind of boat - which is not too expensive - would be best suited for this purpose?

And where can I go online to start learning about what I need to learn?

Thank you!

I learned to surf in Oceanside CA on a 14 bit Lido. Stick with small boats (26 feet or less) to learn. They are much more sensitive to wind and you have to watch everything. Go to your local "Coast Guard United States" and ask them squadren "power" of qualifications and courses to learn the rules of the road, so to speak. Then, before you commit to the purchase of a larger boat, I crew for some people who own their own boats. You can learn volumes of other peoples situations before investing in your own.
I sailed a ketch, 41 'with another guy from Cairns in Australia to Guam. After a while ... learned a lot. Six months on in the tropics with stops in New Guinea, Truk Lagoon, and a few other places. Contact me if you want to track or information on how to do it. Nothing like being in open water.

Just take a cruise instead, .. It's not as dangerous as the sail car

Poor Guy ... It will end up in China

China ...
LMFAO ...

If you make this trip based on the information you on Yahoo! Responses that you will be Shark Bait. Seriously.

We have here a real man .... hook and sinker .... REEL him!

Instead of going online, you'd better find someone who does not sail, pay them some money to get out for a while to get the general ideas of sailing with a real experience. Regarding the purchase of a boat adapted to this nothing will work if you are day sailing in calm waters close to land and stay ashore during the night, but if you stay on the boat, you cost for a house with.

I am potato ..... I float.

You will cross one of the capitals of the world sank near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, if you value your life and security, I recommend riding in a small sailboat from the highway behind a Ford F-350 seriously:)
