The attraction of the Yacht

Nothing compares to the fantasy of any spilled onto the deck of a yacht, the sun warms your face and a cocktail in hand. From his days as a vessel of war feared for its development as the most sought after leisure cruiser, the vessel's speed is as timeless as it is enigmatic.

The yacht started life as a military ship that uses its speed and maneuverability to carry vital military messages between battalions. There is little historical naval battles that the yacht did not play an important role in. Duyfken

One of the most memorable yachts in the world is Duyfken, a three-masted Dutch gem was armed with several guns. Its speed and maneuverability makes it the perfect scout and messenger at the time of the battle and is credited with playing a crucial role in the defeat of the embargo that allowed the Portuguese came the Dutch spice trade for profit in 1601 . The years that followed have seen that face many adventures yacht on exploration in search of new avenues for trade. From Cape Agulhas in the Mozambique Channel and India, Duyfken has become one of the most traveled yachts of the 17th century.

But it was Duyfken 's 1606 trip that made him one of the most memorable and magnificent yachts in history. Captain Willem Janszoon, the Dutch head next trip in search of the legendary King Solomon's Mines in the South East and took the boat and its sailors, to the ends of the earth then known to man. Heading further south than New Guinea, the yacht and its crew of events on the Cape York Peninsula, better known today as Australia. Captain Janszoon and his yacht Duyfken are officially recognized as the first authenticated European trip to the Australian continent. In 1608, Duyfken was declared irreparable, and this remarkable little yacht, which has contributed to making all seven continents known to European geographers, has ended his time on the sea

Designed by Revolutionary yacht designer George Steers, the FT 101 was one of American racing boats first to benefit from his knife-like bow marks the extension to the rear as speed and agility increased . The design was tested in 1851 when America entered the first Royal Yacht Squadron "Hundred Guinea Cup." In the prestigious 53 mile race around the Isle of Wight, the America won eight minutes under the watchful eye of Queen Victoria. The estimated international race trophy was then renamed the America's Cup after his first winner is a tradition that challenges even today's sailors.

America changed hands several times after his famous victory and has been owned by private marine military commanders, but few have been committed to its maintenance.
