Superyacht Crew

Superyacht CrewSuperyacht Crew?

I wondered how many crew members as a yacht octopus or Rising Sun would. In addition, the job would consist of??? Guard eg Masseuse, Bartender security. Thank you in advance !!!!!!! Mark.

Mark
I worked on two larger vessels (over 200 times FT) Simpson Bay, St. Maarten, NA for a couple of seasons and I can tell you;
Larry Ellison's boat Rising Sun has a crew that can vary between 20 (minimum usually on board just to keep it clean, use and security) to 40 (full complement of flight attendants, kitchen staff, etc.)
Octopus Paul Allen boat similar. (By the way, you have chosen two of the larger boats there, a "standard" 200 footnotes, as the boat I worked with a crew of 12-16.

Usually, the captain and FM are still on board with the engineers. If the boat is in its "home base" for a long period of time (the boat I worked at St. Martin remained almost every year), the master, and FM hits can change and remain ground if they have apartments or houses. Most housekeepers, etc. live on, but the situations are different depending on how the owner uses the boat. The guy I worked for never rented the boat, and almost always gave us two weeks in advance when it would happen with the family and guests, therefore we had longer hours lienient then some crews have worked on other boats that had owners who loved "surprise "with the crews unannounced two cruises across the Caribbean week .... they almost always" on "because they would always be ready to leave port.

Contrary to what one might think, most everyone who is part of the crew has many duties and functions.
The team that cleaned the cars in the morning on several occasions that the same people who serve food, pour drinks, etc. Though hoenestly, the only people on a little boat that had "dedicated" employment is the captain Chief / Chief, Head Chief, and Chief Engineer. Pretty much everyone has other functions in a hand on all ....... Now, the boats are big enough to have "rooms" on board usually have certified massage therapist, hair and nail tech, etc.

The next time you arrive in St. Martin, watch the boats 46 feet Beam trying to cross the bridge 50 feet wide Simpson Bay ... you will understand what "all hands on deck" means! Kind of interesting to see 20 crew all lined up on the rails holding wings the size of barrels of 50 gallons ... even the crew galley!

By the way ... I'll add something I missed earlier, some owners (especially the "high level" them) do not have a personal security personnel with them on the boat .... others do not. However, do not let that fool you into believing that there are not several layers of security measures to prevent
all situations "reprobate. Without going to cause, rest assured that large ships have many options at their disposal when it comes to "neutralize" any potential threat to the security / safety of owners, customers, crew and / or boat.
Most of the "world's superyacht" The owners are people you've probably never heard of so in many cases it is not so .... criticism is the only luxury that many of these boat owners and they have to protect it with a passion. Nobody knows who they are!
