If the ships of the U.S. Navy has decided to pull the Iranian boats, what weapons would they use? Would they fired machine guns and used a missile of some sort?

If weapons of today is what they say, it is, then, they have used high-tech gadgets fired from an F18 off a carrier.
There are only three battleships of the fleet left. I would say probably a Sidewinder missile. (The heat-seekers)
